Integration of Television Media in Indonesia

There is a good phenomenon in my country about television media. Since the last 2 years ago I have figured out about the phenomenon. What is it? Secret word of integration has been infiltrated the television in Indonesia. All of them are trying to consolidate and going into merger situation to increase the market share and bargaining power against the new wave marketing situation. New wave marketing is the phrase come from the Indonesian top international level marketing consultant named Hermawan Kertajaya. He is the best marketer which has been co-author with Philip Kotler in several famous books about marketing.

Back to the television I have seen more than one Television Company integrating into one giant power. The first action is taken by the giant television Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) which makes synergy with the other

twos Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia (TPI) and Global Media Television (Global TV). The combinations of three companies affect fusion into one group called Media Nusantara Citra (MNC) which has move to the go public sector last year.

The second action was taken by the TransTV which acquisition the TV7 and now TransTV has changed TV7 into Trans7. The both of Television Company have similar logo. That is good move for the newly television like TransTV with young age in the Indonesia television world. The last action was taken by the Bakrie group which has owned the ANTV television. The groups buy the television called Lativi from the Indonesia ex-minister Abdul Latief and then they changed the television name into TVOne.

What is the purpose of the integration? No other than making giant power in Indonesia television media in order to get market share of advertising in television. Yes, the word of advertising has been the key of the integration above. Without integration they will not survive against the globalization in television media.

The key of getting success in the industry is about make a good team work inside the company. That is the best result regarding the success in our hand.
